stockholders.  Our employees and founders acquired their skills through serving large, international

Management Team

Ronald W. Shepherd, CPA
President and Founder

Ron has managed S&A since its founding in 1994.  His background includes founder and Chief
Operating Officer of an insurance services company that was one of ‘INC’s’ 500 fastest growing
companies each year it was eligible, officer positions in organizations that specialized in insurance
program development, implementation and management and 10 years in public accounting with a
‘Big 4’ accounting firm.   

Ron holds both a Fire & Casualty and Life License.



Christopher D. Shepherd
Vice President - Property Casualty

Chris joined S&A in November of 2004 after spending eight years as a Senior Client Manager with
two large international insurance brokers providing property/casualty insurance services to clients
ranging from small to large international corporations.  

Chris received his BS in Management with an emphasis in Finance from Santa Clara University.  
Chris holds a Fire & Casualty License.     



Stephanie D. Hamel, GBA, CMS, CEBS
Vice President - Employee Benefits

Stephanie joined S&A in September of 2002 after spending five years with a small prestigious
benefits consultant broker where she managed Employer Compliance and Administration
departments, including Section 125 plans and COBRA, and placed insurance coverage for small to
large clients.  

Stephanie received a BS in Combined Sciences from Santa Clara University.  In addition, she holds
a Life License, a Fire & Casualty License and is a designated Group Benefits  Associate,
Compensation Management Specialist and Certified Employee Benefit Specialist.  




Dan Boram
Vice President - Operations

Dan joined S&A in February of 2006 after spending over four years with a benefits brokerage firm in
Mountain View.  During those four years, Dan took on numerous responsibilities  including managing
the Section 125 department, supervising the COBRA and Section 125 call center and placing health
insurance for individuals.  

Dan graduated from San Jose State with departmental honors with a BA in Psychology and a minor
in Business.  In addition, he holds a Life Agent License and Fire & Casualty License.
